Footpath Salon Chinatown is in one of the oldest areas of Bangkok. It is the result of the resettlement of Chinese on the west bank of Chao Phraya River after Rama I moved the capital of the kingdom from Thonburi to Rattanakosin. Rich in cultural history, this place has more to discover than the street foods and gold shops. For years, the Thai ladies practice the old technique of facial hair removal with threads as they setup their salons with just a chair and a stool right on the sidewalks. Both men and women queue up to get these quick services as others pass by them.
