We met this cheerful lady washing cloths on the bank of the river as we were strolling through a no-so-famous village in Yangshuo, China. Our guide helped us introduced ourselves to her and she was quite excited to know that we were from India. As the conversations went on, we got to know that the statue next to her is called the "Lady Buddha". It's a belief among the villagers that the deity saves the children from getting drowned in the river. That's the reason that the statue is placed next to the river and worshiped by the villagers.
